A 10-day power outage in October 2006 and another 2-day outage in January 2008 made me decide not to be cold again.

Our furnace isn't hooked up to the generator and it gets mighty cold.

As soon as the power came back on I went fireplace shopping.

I was so excited to finally have my own fireplace. Once we signed the contract and set up the date we had some work to do. We thought it was best to repaint the room before having the fireplace installed. One wall was covered with wallpaper that had to be removed. I think it came off an inch at a time and took us a week. I would love to have it centered on the wall but I have too much furniture and the corner installation worked out best.
